In the last couple of days, I have finished Bone: One Volume Edition by Jeff Smith and The Wednesday Sisters by Meg Waite Clayton (both of which I highly enjoyed and recommend) and have read Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons (which I found to be a rather disturbing deconstruction of the superhero mythos). I'll have more to say later on after I collect my thoughts on all three.
Also, I received The Spirit of the Place by Samuel Shem as an ARC last week, as well as Paulo Coelho's The Zahir and Mark Haddon's The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, both from my sister as belated birthday gifts.
(See, I'm still sticking to my no buying no books for a month rule. I haven't purchased a book since May 1.)

I am so impressed with you! I was good all throughout 2007. I am making up for all that goodness this year...lol!
You're a better man than I am gunga din. I've fallen off the wagon a few times already. *le sigh*
I've decided though to start fresh in June. Maybe I will fare better then. Just don't make any more recommendations!
Wow. I don't know that I could be that good for an entire year! It actually hasn't been that hard, however. I've got so many good books sitting on my shelves thatceany to be read, in addition to the ARCs that are arriving in the mail, I think I'm set for awhile.
And I can't make any promises, Gail, but I'll try to only read bad books for awhile. ;)
That would be helpful thanks!
Or at the very least you can stick to books that I've already read. ;-)
Now that I think about it I don't think I have bought anything since May 1st either. I have been getting a log of arc's thanks to LT that I haven't bought anything. I need to visit a bookstore soon! On a side note, I left Meg Waite Clayton a comment that my review was up and she linked it to her site so if you are interested let her know.
