ANNOUNCEMENT
After a lot of thought, I've decided to take a break from blogging for the foreseeable future. With my little C creeping its way back into my life and possible long term treatment now, I need to take a couple of things off my plate for the time being, and the blog is going to be one of those things. As it is, it felt like it was becoming more of a chore than anything else. I need my reading time to be more enjoyable right now, more of the escape that I really need, and what I don't need is the little voice in the back of my head telling me how many reviews I'm behind and trying to come up with what I need to say about the book.

I simply want to read.

I'll more than likely occasionally post on here what I've been reading, and if there is something that really blows my mind, I'll probably have more to say about it and may write up a proper post, but for right now, things are going to be very quiet around here.

As always, happy reading!
2017 edit
I will continue to blog according to my health and ability, and connecting my posts thru Goodreads, so please be patient if things get quiet around here again this year.

2017 edit #2
I am happy to report that my bone marrow transplant was a success and that I'm feeling more like myself everyday. That said, I'm going to try to start blogging a little more frequently, but please bear with me as I still continue to recover.

Hello, new books!

I love days like this!! I came home to find 2 packages in the mail!

First off, I received Hannah Tinti's The Good Thief. This was an ARC that I got through SelfAwareness. According to the book-back blurb:

Benjamin Nab appears one day at the orphanage where Ren has spent the eleven years of his young life. Convincing the monks he is Ren's long-lost brother Benjamin sweeps the boy away into a vibrant world of adventure, filled with outrageous scam artists, grave robbers, and petty thieves. But is Benjamin Nab really who he claims to be? As Ren begins to find clues to his hidden parentage, he comes to suspect that Benjamin holds the key not only to his future but to his past as well.

Sounds good, doesn't it? I can't wait to get into this one.

Then, I received my box from Amazon (curse the 4-for-3 deal!) In that box, I received Full Moon, the second book in Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files series, Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None, Asterix the Gaul (purchased in a fit of high school French class nostalgia, as I also purchased The Red Balloon on DVD the other day as well, both of which were used in my French class) and lastly Katherine Kerr's Daggerspell, the first book in her Deverry series. I read about this series on Table Talk's blog, and sense she and I seem to share a very similar taste in books, I have no doubt that this is something that I will enjoy.

Yay new books! I've got The Good Thief as well, and I'm looking forward to it. Daggerspell is indeed a good book, as are the rest in the series that I've read. I hope you enjoy it!

Such a great list of new books. =) I too recently received The Good Thief...I am looking forward to it.

I also have really fond memories of both And Then There Were None and Daggerspell. Kerr is an author most excellent. I loved that series...I need to re-read it one of these days.

Yay! I'm even more excited now about the Kerr book - I've heard nothing but good things about the series.

One more on the Katherine Kerr bandwagon - I've read the series through twice, and it just gets better. Enjoy!

I'm really looking forward to what you think of the Kerr. Post dental surgery and with nothing but fluff between my ears I'm re-reading the Belgariad. There's nothing like old friends when you're feeling decidedly less than yourself.
