April, 2020 - I think I'm going to shut From My Bookshelf down for a while; maybe for good. I've been putting this together for quite a few years now and it's starting to feel a bit more of a chore. I'll keep my Goodreads connected, but with the state of the world right now, I just want to read without worrying about making sure I post something about it. Who knows - when the world starts to make some semblance of sense again, I may start actively posting here again. Until then, as always, happy reading!

Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-thon, Post #1

OK, so I'm starting Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-thon now. I have no delusions of finishing the full 24 hours, but I'm devoting as much of my day to reading as I'm able to. I have no idea how much posting I'll be doing throughout the day as this is the first time I've ever done this, so we'll see how the day goes. =)

The Hour 1 Meme for the day is:

Where are you reading from today? Lansing, MI

3 facts about me …

How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours? About 10, as I don't really know what I'm going to be in the mood for. I've got plenty of books around the house if those don't work for me.

Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)? Basically, the only goal I have is to get through the 4 books I'm in the middle of now, and then work my way through what I've got here. I want to read books that I've got set aside for Challenges to help me get caught up today.

If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, Any advice for people doing this for the first time? Nope, this is my first time, so no advice from me!

OK, that's all the posting for now! I need to get reading!! =)
